The Kemonokaki License

Effective Date: June 29, 2024

Overview​

This license applies to individual creators or groups (not legal entities) creating Fan Content based on Kemonokaki. To be eligible for The Kemonokaki License, you must own at least one (1) Kemonokaki NFT. If you are a legal entity wishing to make commercial works based on the Kemonokaki IP you MUST contact Oekaki Connect for a commercial license.

Fan Content Guidelines​

1. Required Elements​

  • Clearly state that your Fan Content is fan work based on Kemonokaki.
  • Include proof of Kemonokaki NFT ownership (e.g., wallet address or token ID). See below.

2. Prohibited Content​

  • Anything damaging to Kemonokaki's reputation.
  • Incorporation of other intellectual property outside of fair use or legal license.
  • Content that could be mistaken for official Kemonokaki releases.
  • Extracted assets from official Kemonokaki products. For example, you can't extract sprites/sounds/music from our first party games and put them into your fan works.
  • Use of other Kemonokaki Fan Content without creator permission.
  • Content featuring excessive sexual themes or imagery that violates applicable laws or community standards. Creators are strongly advised to refrain from sexualizing Kemonokaki characters or themes.
  • Content promoting hatred against individuals or groups.
  • Unauthorized use or modification of Oekaki Connect team members' personal images.

3. Distribution​

Fan Content may be distributed through platforms where:

  • Official Kemonokaki content is already available
  • Distribution is licensed or permitted by Oekaki Connect

Acceptable distribution channels include (but are not limited to):

  • Local fan events
  • Small home businesses (physical media only)
  • Approved digital marketplaces
  • Free-to-play browser and mobile games (in-app ads and removable ads allowed)
  • Video-sharing platforms for fan-made video content

4. Commercial Use​

  • Commercial use is permitted for individual creators or groups owning at least one Kemonokaki NFT.
  • Legal entities must contact Oekaki Connect for explicit commercial licensing.

5. Responsibility​

  • Creators are solely responsible for any issues arising from their Fan Content.
  • Oekaki Connect is not liable for any damages related to Fan Content.

6. Disclaimer​

  • This license provides general guidelines for fan creators.
  • Oekaki Connect reserves the right to contact creators directly regarding serious violations.
  • This license may be updated without prior notice.
  • Oekaki Connect reserves the right to revoke this license at any time.
  • If you are a legal entity intending to sell a commercial project you should contact us directly for a commercial license.

7. Exceptions​

  • Fan Content that is not distributed for profit (e.g., personal projects, fan art, fan fiction) is exempt from the commercial use clause.
  • Fan Content that is not distributed publicly (e.g., private collections, personal use) is exempt from the distribution clause.
  • Individual drawings or sketches based on Kemonokaki do not require ownership of a Kemonokaki NFT as long as they are not distributed commercially.

Proving NFT Ownership​

To prove your Kemonokaki NFT ownership, follow these steps:

Anyone will be able to verify the validity of this signed message, that your wallet holds the token to make the license valid.

If you trade/sell a token that was used in a signed message, you must republish a new message with another valid token that you own listed. Otherwise your license will no longer be valid and you must cease distribution of your fan work.
